Christos Lagos, Esq. is a partner and senior trial counsel at the law firm of Ratiner, Lagos & Mirabal, P.A. Mr. Lagos has tried numerous jury trials as lead trial counsel. He represents plaintiffs in complex damage cases involving catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims arising out of automobile negligence, medical malpractice, premises liability, and defective products. Mr. Lagos has achieved several multi-million dollar awards for his clients by settlement agreements and at trial. Mr. Lagos has received an AV Peer Review Rating by the Martindale-Hubble Law Directory after a confidential peer review from members of the Bar and Judiciary.  An AV Peer Review Rating is the preeminent rating, indicating "the highest level of legal ability" and "the pinnacle of professional excellence."*

Mr. Lagos is an Honors Graduate with a degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Franklin & Marshall College. In college, he co-taught a first-year English writing skills course, was inducted to the Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society, served as captain of the football team, and hosted a weekly radio show. In law school, he was selected to serve on the Moot Court Board, directed the Advanced Moot Court Competition, was inducted to the Honors Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi, earned Dean's and Honors List recognition, assisted first-year law students as a Legal Research & Writing Advisor, and served as a member of the National Mock Trial Team.

Mr. Lagos began his legal career representing the State of Florida as a Prosecutor in Miami-Dade County. He handled hundreds of cases ranging from traffic fatalities to first-degree and life felonies. He argued before Florida's Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Appeals, conducted civil commitment hearings, and tried numerous jury and bench trials as lead counsel with the majority of charges involving violent felonies. Mr. Lagos completed his tenure assigned to the Career Criminal Robbery Division, a specialized trial unit prosecuting violent career criminals.  Mr. Lagos then entered private practice as a litigation associate at a large firm that focused primarily in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death.  He continued his relationship as Of Counsel for this firm until forming his current firm. Mr. Lagos also briefly served as a member of the Division of Risk Management's defense team as an independent contractor for the State of Florida's Department of Financial Services.  Mr. Lagos now concentrates his practice on the representation of plaintiffs at his firm Ratiner, Lagos & Mirabal, P.A.

Mr. Lagos participates in community service, charitable functions and pro bono activities. Mr. Lagos and his partner Robert J. Ratiner, Esq. hosted a weekly local radio call-in talk show addressing current legal events and other legal topics.  Mr. Lagos has guest lectured for Chief Judge David M. Gersten's Litigation Skills course at St. Thomas University School of Law. Mr. Lagos also judges litigation skills activities at St. Thomas University School of Law, Florida International University School of Law and the University of Miami School of Law.

Mr. Lagos is admitted to practice in Florida, Washington, D.C., the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Professional affiliations include membership to the Spellman-Hoeveler Chapter of the American Inns of Court; Trial Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar; American Association for Justice; American Bar Association; Miami-Dade Justice Association; Dade County Bar Association; Florida Justice Association; American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA); a charter member of the Hellenic American Bar Association; Cuban-American Bar Association; a Lifetime Member and Fellow of the Florida Bar Foundation; a charter member of the League of Prosecutors; a member of the University of Miami School of Law Dean's Circle and the University of Miami President's Circle; and a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which are prestigious memberships of trial lawyers in the United States who have won million and multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts.  

Mr. Lagos is happily married to Alexandra Bach Lagos, who is also a lawyer.
